Job Title: Assembly Technician Job Description

The Assembly Technician assembles and tests actuators for hydraulic systems while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and documentation. This role involves mechanical assembly, pressure testing, inspection, and the use of hand and power tools in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. The Assembly Technician contributes to efficient production operations and supports general maintenance and housekeeping as needed.

• Assemble actuators and related components for hydraulic systems according to blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials.
• Perform final assembly inspection of parts to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
• Complete pressure testing of parts and assemblies to verify proper function and safety.
• Utilize hand and power tools, including hydraulic presses and other equipment, for assembly, testing, and repair work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and prints to complete accurate mechanical assembly.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with hydraulic systems, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain correct documentation, including timekeeping records, bills of materials, prints, and other production paperwork.
• Use and read measuring equipment and tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and perform basic mechanical repairs as needed.
• Support general maintenance, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned to keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Collaborate with team members and trainers to ensure efficient production flow and knowledge sharing.
• Manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

• Mechanical assembly experience, preferably in a related industry involving hydraulic systems or similar equipment.
• Hands-on experience using various hand and power tools, including hydraulic presses.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and prints.
• Ability to use and read measuring equipment and tape measures accurately.
• Comfort using various computer software to support documentation and production processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with hydraulic components, valves, and actuators.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the day and perform physical tasks associated with assembly work.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a production environment.

• Demonstrated capacity to understand the role, desire to perform it, and ability to carry out its responsibilities (GWC: Gets it, Wants it, Capacity to do it).

• Fluid power technology degree or formal training in fluid power (preferred).
• Previous experience in hydraulic assembly, valve assembly, or related mechanical production environments (preferred).
• Strong math skills to support measurement, layout, and verification tasks (preferred).
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical or hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with production environments that emphasize cleanliness, organization, and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to cross-train and develop skills in different areas of the organization.

The role is based in a newer, well-maintained building with a clean, organized, and climate-controlled production environment. Employees work with hand and power tools, including hydraulic presses and other mechanical assembly equipment, in a setting that emphasizes safety, structure, and efficient workflow. The facility provides strong support from experienced teams and trainers, creating a collaborative atmosphere where employees can develop their skills and advance into other areas of the company. The environment is designed to be professional, comfortable, and conducive to focused mechanical assembly and testing work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
