Residential Plumbing Service Manager / Lead Plumber

Dayton/Kettering, OH | $75,000–$95,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus/Profit Share | Company Vehicle

Are you an experienced residential plumber or plumbing service leader who is ready for the next step in your career?

We're looking for a Residential Plumbing Service Manager / Lead Plumber to help lead and grow our residential plumbing division. This is a great opportunity for an experienced plumber who wants to gradually transition off the tools and into leadership — or an experienced Service Manager who is looking for more ownership and the opportunity to make a real impact.

This role will initially be approximately 75% field / 25% office , with the opportunity to gradually transition into a more management-focused position as the residential division grows.

What You'll Do

• Lead, train, and support a team of residential plumbing technicians
• Run service calls as needed while staying connected to the field and supporting your team
• Manage daily scheduling, dispatching, and technician workflow
• Train technicians on service, customer communication, presentation, and sales best practices
• Help develop and maintain the residential plumbing pricebook, including flat-rate pricing and service options
• Build and improve processes, systems, and checklists to help the department operate efficiently
• Monitor customer satisfaction, callbacks, reviews, and overall service quality
• Handle customer concerns and follow up to ensure an excellent customer experience
• Help grow the residential division through referrals, reviews, maintenance agreements, and other initiatives
• Track performance and help drive the department toward its financial and operational goals
• Gradually take on additional leadership and management responsibilities as the division grows

What We're Looking For

We're open to two types of candidates :

Experienced Plumbing Service Manager:
Someone who has already led a residential plumbing service team and is comfortable with dispatch, systems, training, customer service, and day-to-day operations.

Experienced Plumber Ready for Management:
A strong residential service plumber who has been thinking about making the move into leadership and wants the opportunity to learn the business side while gradually transitioning away from full-time field work.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of residential plumbing/service experience preferred
• Plumbing license or applicable licensing credentials
• Experience leading, training, or mentoring other plumbers
• Strong residential service knowledge
• Experience with dispatching, scheduling, or field service operations
• Strong computer and technology skills
• Ability to learn and utilize field service management software
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• A willingness to learn, take ownership, and build something
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

You do not need prior PE/scaling experience. We're looking for someone who is capable, motivated, eager to learn, and ready to grow into a larger leadership role.
