CPA / Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced CPA / Tax Accountant to join a growing, smaller accounting firm. This position will handle tax preparation and processing for a variety of individual and business clients while providing year-round accounting and tax support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other business tax returns.
• Manage tax return processing from initial documentation through filing.
• Review client financial information for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare tax estimates, extensions, and related filings.
• Assist clients with tax questions and general accounting needs.
• Research and resolve tax notices and discrepancies.
• Maintain organized and accurate client files and documentation.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding documentation, deadlines, and tax matters.
• Support bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and other accounting projects as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Qualifications

• CPA required or CPA candidate with strong tax experience.
• Previous public accounting or tax preparation experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of individual and business tax returns.
• Comfortable working independently in a small-firm environment and managing multiple clients.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent client communication skills.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
